Goodbye New Orleans, Hello Next Adventures!
The Excellent Adventure way is to never end one trip without putting another one on the horizon. We didn’t need to worry about that as we left New Orleans, as the next few months (nay, weeks!) already boast plans to visit many interesting places—some we’ve been to and several we have not. So, as always, stay tuned, travel safe, and laissez les bon temps rouler!
Swamp Adventure!
Here is how we plan trips: we decide what we are going to do, and then we figure out how to make it possible. Months ago, when we first decided to go to New Orleans, we promised ourselves we would road-trip out of the city and take an airport tour of the swamp.

Pat O'Briens, Bourbon Madness
We don’t have pictures from the after-party that night, when we all hit Bourbon street to celebrate. We went to Pat O’Briens, the legendary and enormous piano-bar/outdoor-bar/every-kind-of-bar to drink Hurricanes and have fun.
Eventually, Anna and Peter headed home to rest up for an early adventure the next morning…
Port Of Call, and Ghost Issues
We arrived at Louis Armstrong International at 10pm on Friday night. We grabbed our rental car and booked it for the French Quarter to check into our hotel, the historic Bourbon Orleans. Now, two days ago, Anna had called Peter in a PANIC. It went like this:
Anna: There’s something wrong with our hotel!
Peter: Did they lose our reservation? Does it have bedbugs?
Anna: It’s HAUNTED.

New Orleans!
Hi, gang!
We’re back! Both in terms of adventure-blogging and in the literal sense, as only twelve hours ago we stepped off the plane in NYC after a weekend in New Orleans.
For those of you who need a reminder, this New Orleans trip was not unrelated to the original Excellent Adventure: we headed down for the Louisiana-side celebration of Joe and Daniela (of chickenpox-hosting-fame)...
